Back in 2019, while showcasing new features to one of the company's largest customers, the security lead asked a thought-provoking question: "Should we stop this meeting, go address the critical and high risks your product highlights, and return later - if they're putting my business at risk?" The founder's response was simple: these weren't real risks per se, but rather best practices that should be aimed at to improve the security posture. This moment sparked the idea for Plerion. The founder thought, "What if I could build a product that could help customers identify risks that really matter, instead of best practices?"
As the founder delved deeper into conversations, it became evident that many struggled to identify cloud risks. So, the decision was made to build Plerion to solve this problem.
Fast forward a few years, and the scenario has repeated itself multiple times. During calls with customers, prospects, and partners, the founder has often paused mid-conversation to urge them to address the major risks in their cloud environments, such as sensitive data exposure.
